20180501 Peter RaketnikovPeter Karetnikov  is born in Moscow in 1987. He had his first cello classes in 1992 at Gnessin Moscow Special School of Music where Professor V.Tonkha who holds the title of People’s Artiste of the Russian Federation was his teacher. From 1998 till 2005 he studied the cello under Vera Birina, Honored Cultural Worker, and Professor T. Prokhorova.  In 2012 he graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory where his supervising teacher was Professor Dmitry Miller, Honored Artiste of the Russian Federation.

International awards:

“Days of Beethoven in Moscow” Third Laureate Award (2003);

“Contemporary Performing Arts” Second Laureate Award (2007).

Peter Karetnikov has received grants from the Russian Performing Arts Foundation and Cultural Exchange Foundation of Konstantin Orbelyan.

During his studies he gave quite a lot of concerts. For instance, he played the cello  solo at R. Shuman’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra conducted by Airat Kashaev. Peter performed on the stages of Maly and Rakhmaninov Concert Halls of the Moscow Conservatory. He also gave many concerts as a part of the duet with Alexander Panfilov, a pianist that has also won quite many international awards. In 2006 and 2007, being a member of VITA Quartet, Peter studied under Valentin Berlinsky, People’s Artiste of the Russian Federation and the founder of Borodin Quartet. Peter Karetnikov has attended workshops held by Mstislav Rostropovich (Voronezh, Russia, 2007) and courses of Danel Quartet in Abbaye du Pin (France, 2007). From 2010 concertmaster of cello group in “Radio Orphey State orchestra”.

Op zondag 25 november 2018 treedt Peter op in de kerk van Mook met het RUSQUARTET.
