Paolo Gorini
Paolo Gorini is an Italian pianist and composer. His activity focuses mainly on contemporary music; his eclectic training made him a musician at his ease in different genres. He worked with the German pianist Hauschka during the Milano Piano City 2015 opening concert, and he frequently collaborates with Sentieri Selvaggi Ensemble. His commitment to the production of contemporary music constantly brings him to working closely with emerging composers: he have participated several times in the Composer Festival Amsterdam, he performed “À travers le verre du temps” by Gerardo Gozzi at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and he is now the official pianist of the Nieuw Ensemble. In duo with Marco Danesi (clarinet), he won the Storioni Toonzaal Prijs 2017. In 2016 his piece ‘Geometrie di vento’ for Orchestra was commissioned and performed in Milan by the orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali. His last piece, ‘Caligo luminis’ for voice and piano has been used for the video mapping show ‘Ecce homo’ during the festival CidneOn 2018.
